These fees can be collected without special city or county approval, to fund the construction of school facilities necessitated by the impact of residential and commercial development activity. In addition, these fees can also be used to fund the reconstruction of school facilities to accommodate students generated from new development projects.”

“As a condition of issuing building permits for construction or developments in the City of Los Angeles, the District has a contract with the city to collect impact fees. The City of Los Angeles remits the collections to the District monthly. The District's Impact Fee Program Office collects impact fees for construction projects outside the city of Los Angeles but within the District's boundaries.”
