What this site collects

Nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no forms, no cookies set by this site, and no advertising or tracking scripts on any page.

What happens anyway

Two things are worth naming, because "nothing" is never quite the whole truth on the web.

Your browser talks to the host. These pages are served by Cloudflare, which records the ordinary information any web server records — which page was asked for, the IP address that asked, the time, and which browser. That is how the page reaches you and how the site is kept up.

Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap. On pages that draw a map, the tiles are fetched from tile.openstreetmap.org as you pan and zoom, and that service sees your IP address when they load. It is the only thing on this site loaded from anywhere else. The typefaces, the mapping software and everything else are served from here, so no other company sees that you visited.

What this site does not do

No analytics. No advertising network. No social buttons. Nothing is shared with anyone, and nothing is sold, because there is nothing to sell.

If that changes

If analytics or advertising is ever added, a line will appear in the footer of every page saying so — that is built in, not a promise — and this page will say what it records. Get in touch if anything here is unclear.
